Street Outreach

Women of Means has created a statewide Telephone and Shelter Resource Directory in response to a need for accurate and thorough information about medical and community services available to the homeless. Information provided includes contact and descriptive information, addresses, telephone and facsimile numbers and other relevant information for organizations that offer a helping hand. This comprehensive directory saves time and energy, providing quick and easy access to services and referrals.

Included are more than 1800 numbers in 23 categories for services provided by state and local governments, children’s services, community action agencies, dental services, detoxification support, discrimination referrals, drop-in services and meals, elder services, gay lesbian and transgendered services, homeless health care, hospitals and hospital networks, legal services, mental health services, methadone/narcotics treatment, neighborhood health centers, parenting services, substance abuse counseling, adult and family shelters, services and help for women in crisis, plus additional community services. In addition, we have included a detailed listing of statewide shelter resources.
